groundworks faq’S
how long do groundworks take?
This always depends on the size or scope of the project, but we typically recommend 30-40 days for a two-court project from start to completion.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER SOLUTIONS?
There are - such as temporary or permanent Padel platforms. Companies that produce these platforms that suit Mejorset courts include Lusotendas and Resipadel. These temporary platforms are unique and built from scratch, but do rival costs in terms of full groundworks.
how much do groundworks cost?
It’s hard to give a precise estimate before we visit and assess what’s in the ground - and this also depends on the type of surface we are building on. Our team can provide an accurate quote after a site visit.
WHAT IS USUALLY INVOLVED IN GROUNDWORKS?
Groundworks tend to typically involve survey and assessments, excavation, site preparation, foundation and base construction, installation of fencing and lighting, environmental considerations and extras such as surrounding turf or pathways, ball-stop systems or gates. This varies from each project.
why does padel need groundworks?
Padel requires a completely flat surface - for an even bounce and the best version of play. It is also requires sufficient drainage in order to alleviate flooding and court damage from rain. This is why SG are experts - we do things right and we do them once, whilst taking into account every eventuality and challenge from what’s in the ground.
do sg padel do groundworks?
Yes - SG Padel have an in-house Groundworks team that carry out our projects, from start to finish. We have carried out Groundworks project at University of Cambridge, Club Kingswood in Basildon and Ombersley & Doverdale Tennis Club in Worcestershire, and we work all across the UK.
